Requesting Amateur Radio Operators to provide support to Young’s Charity
Bike Ride on Saturday, September 6.
This is a relatively large event due to a good number of participants
and a very large geographical area. We need lots of ham volunteers. The
start/finish will be at Young’s Dairy (US-68, just north of Yellow
Springs).
There are several route options. Locations are spread across southern
Clark into western Madison, and northern Greene counties.
Start is scheduled for 8 am and the last rider typically rolls in around
5 pm. Assignments will be staggered through this time period. Most of
the assigned locations require a decent mobile set-up–25 watts with a
vehicle mounted antenna (with some gain) should be sufficient for most
spots. Several loaner mobile rigs are available. Bicycle-mobile
operators would be helpful.
