Fall is nipping at our heals. The temperatures grow cooler and pump-kin spice flavored everything is here. September brings two big public service opportunities with the Young’s Bike Tour and the Air Force Marathon. I hope to have the participation from as many club mem-bers as possible. It is also time to start thinking about the upcoming XWARN election. It is a couple months away, but preparations must begin now. We will need an election chair picked at the September meeting. Happy August XWARN! Hope your summer is going well and you got many chances to operate your radios. Ending the summertime, next month is a large event for our area – the Air Force Marathon. I hope everyone can volunteer. Sign ups usu-ally close August 31st. If you have any questions, contact Bob N8ADO. Is there any interest in starting a club POTA group? Happy July, XWARN! I hope everyone is surviving the intense heat. We had a delightful and suc-cessful Field Day despite melting just a little. Happy We survived Hamvention! But seriously, the t-shirt sale went amazing. We sold out…and very rapidly. Size medium was gone early on the first day! Everything else was sold out by the end of Saturday. Yes, you read that correctly…EVERYTHING. I am estimating at least 100 people wanted to buy a t-shirt after they were gone. It’s time to order more. Hamvention is all done and now it is time for Field Day!! It is coming up soon and we will be doing our normal place at BTFD Station 61. Hello XWARN! 2025 seems to be flying by! The time has changed, and Spring is about to become upon us. We start off a busy event season with the Xenia Marathon. Hope to see lots of you working that on April 6th. Hamven-tion t-shirts are being prepared. Please don’t forget that this is our major source of funding. We need everyone to sign up for at least a 2-hour shift. Before we know it, Hamvention will be here! With Spring comes storms. Consider attending the National Weather Service Spotter Training online, coming up soon. We can never be too prepared…
