The Xenia Weather Amateur Radio Net (X.W.A.R.N) was formed shortly after a F5 tornado in 1974 struck the town of Xenia, Ohio and was specifically chartered to provide the city of Xenia and Greene County public and private service organizations with a reliable backup to their civil communications, when needed, in times of an emergency. Growing from only 15 Amateur Radio Operators soon after its inception, we now boast a growing membership of over 90 , principally from Greene and Montgomery counties. The organization continues its weather nets and has become a thriving Amateur Radio Organization supporting & promoting not only Amateur Radio as a hobby but in Emergency Communications, Public Service, & Civil Activities in our communities.
